A blog about love
THis blog follows a lady named Mara who had been going through spme trying times in her life. Her marriage was failing and she also was living in New York which can be very expensive. She says that she was looking for her mission.
Five years later, MAra is now divirced still living in New York mets a guy name Danny. Danny was not what she expected only because she took time to focus on herself and find her mission. Danny swept her off her feet and they are now married. THey ceded to blog together to give other couples hope or even help a single man/woman find love as well.
One negative thing I can say about the site was it is very hard to find the page tabs to navigate the website. They have included several labels with stories just to make the reader a little more comfortable.
They also have included different article to help single women and men find love. Steps to make a relationship work.
The couple’s blog has became so popular that they now charge to mention your business on the site. Prices as follow:
- A spot as the sponsor of the weekly feed, posted on Mondays.
- A short post about your company, product, or service. The post will be available to the 50,000 unique monthly visitors to the site as the sponsor of weekly feed (this will be a new feature – you can be one of the first!)
- A permanent spot in the sponsored area on the site.
- A creative post for your campaign including our own photos, our experiences using the product, or your brand integrated into our lives somehow in a genuine way. The post will be available to 50,000 unique monthly visitors to the site.
- Social media promotion on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.
This blog is very fun. I wouldn’t say that it is geared towards the early 20’s age group, simply because we are not ready for marriage yet. If you are looking for love and relationship facts.
I honestly love this framework. The simplicity of the of the color scheme highlights whatever it is that needs to be highlighted. Even better it is FREE. The orange speaks very bold but it is not over welming to the point where you do not know what is going on.
Frameworks are becoming increasingly popular to build themes with. They allow for rapid development based on best practices, without the need to reinvent the wheel each time you design a new theme.
In my personal opinion I would much rather use a theme. I like thefact that I would be in charge of the way my blog works. I can choose the colors. Though the frame I chose was free as well I still would perfer to use theme.
A Great Night Out!
This theme for me shows me the colorful Times Square. I am originally from New York so this makes me happy. The vibrant colors draws in my attention and it makes me want to look at the website. The title “Eighties” also grabs my attention because the 80’s was an era that my generation looks at as a ideal decade to grow up in.
My interpretation of the 80’s is a fun time where people partied and had fun. So with that simple ” Eighties” title with a subtitle “A Girls Night Out”, it grabs the female’s attention. He will scroll further because she(the female) wants to know what could be on this blog about a girls night out in the 80’s.
I feel that with theme maybe one could post about fashion or music. Those two would be most appropriate or even anything dealing with creativity. The bright opens up the mind and he/she can channel their inner creative side.
This free theme is a awesome way to grab the reader’s attention and also displays a universal fun time.
A good contact form on a website can make or break a business. One that is not appealing to the eye makes the consumer will not trust the website with their contact info. A lot of businesses use contact info to become more one eon one with the consumer that way they can get more business. Ways it is beneficial is..Customizations: Plugins allow you to create contact forms that match the look and feel of your site, with custom fields, defined next steps, and more. Ease of use, user-friendly interfaces that require no coding to install or use. Contact management: Some contact form plugins for Word Press include a dashboard to help you manage contact information from your customers. Spam protection: Often, contact form plugins for Word Press include some form of security to prevent spam comments.
A wordpress menu is defined as “a collecition or list of links.” It is frequently located in the nagivation area/bar. Each link in a menu is called a menu item. A basic website navigation menu includes items such as.. (about, services, products, testimonials and contact). There can also be sub-menu items that drop down from the items on the menu bar.
A bad example: Nike.
The only way to view the menu bar on the Nike website is when a user scrolls the page vetically and the background images overlap with the menu bar. This type of menu bar may aggriavate a user because its a bit confusing if you’ve never been on the website before and have an understanding of how it works. The menu bar is only small dots that are located on the top right of the webpage, which a user might perceive to be part of the websites design. Because of this, it may take the new user awhile to figure out where the navigation menu actually is. This websites navigation bar is definitely unique and memorable, but it’s just too confusing.
Good example: Southwest airlines.
When you visit this webpage, there is definitely a lot going on, but the navigation menu is pretty simple. There is also a drop down menu that gives you the option to skip unnecessary page refreshers or reloads and to quickly let you see the information for each section on the menu bar.
For those who are customizing menus on their website, I would advise them to make sure that their navigation menu is easily accessible and most importantly, easy to locate. Users want to be able to get in and get out. If they are confused on how to navigate your website, they are less likely to return to it. Make sure your menu bar is obvious and self explanatory. I would also advise them to organize the navigation menu with main menus and sub-links, that way the user isn’t overwhelmed. If you have links to all the pages on your website without any sub-links, your website would be way too cluttered.
The question that comes to mind when you hear the word widget is what is it? That was my exact response the first time I heard someone speak about widgets on WordPress. A widget is a small block that performs a specific function. You have a variety of options when choosing the widgets you want for your blog. You have the about me widget, calendar, contact info, Instagram, and even a Facebook like button. You can add these widgets in sidebars, footers, headers, and below content. Widgets provide a simple and easy way of giving design and structure to your WordPress page.
The Instagram widget is a useful widget that provides a way to bring personality to your site. This widget is a great to have on your site because it allows you to showcase your latest Instagram posts on your personal site. It provides a way for viewers to become exposed to other media sites you have.
The About.me widget is a convenient way to display information about yourself or business you are representing on the site. This widget is useful because it provides viewers a quick overview or description of who you are or your company/business.
The Gallery widget is a great way to feature your latest photos for your viewers on your site. Especially for a photographer who is always searching ways to feature their work. This widget provides you with a way to do just that!
I chose to take a closer look at Moesia. This specific theme I thought would be useful to learn more about because it is a business theme. This theme is useful to know about because it helps to build presence on the internet. You can choose from 11 pre-defined blocks and build your homepage that best suits whatever company you are working for. Each of the homepage blocks can have a background image and its own set of colors. Moesia also features a selection of Google Fonts, two types of layouts for the blog page, interesting animations and effects, a parallax header and much more. This theme in particular is given 4.8 out of 5 stars and is also free. Almost every review I have read has said something along the lines of “easy to use, many features”. Sometimes too many features will scare users into thinking that the theme is too complex, however the questions that bloggers had when they ran into problems were answered promptly and clearly. Just this past month over 1,500 users have downloaded this theme!https://wordpress.org/themes/moesia
